Born in a small town called Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, Prafull was raised a Hindu Brahmin by his father Pandit Sohan Billore who is a businessman, cum farmer and also president of Akhil Jaintiya Naramdiya Brahmin Sangathan. His mother’s name is not disclosed, but we know that Prafull has a brother named Vivek, who is the co-founder of MBA Chai Wala.

As a child, Praful was interested in entrepreneurship and he studied Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and he pursued a Bachelor in Commerce in terms of his higher studies. In 2016, Prafull had started preparing for CAT examinations along with GMAT but he could not clear any of his tests despite trying hard twice.

After his graduation, Prafull started working immediately as a salesman at Amway and during his struggle period, he was seen doing a string of odd jobs such as being a housekeeping staff at McDonalds. It was however during his shifts at McDonalds that he decided to start his tea stall. 

Soon enough, he launched his first stall in Ahmedabad, wherein he offered the general public chai with an English accent – which was quite unheard of especially since it was a ‘chai stall’ and not a cafe or even a cloud kitchen. This fresh perspective caught the immediate attention of several pedestrians and passers-by. The stall became popular for obvious reasons and it became much more than just a business as it turned out to be a connecting place for people to stand and talk while sipping on ‘chai’. It became a connecting platform as well, which was complete with a whiteboard for employers and job seekers to exchange communication and contact numbers.

When Prafull opened his dream company, he had an innate desire to gain an identity of his own—it didn’t matter that he could not hold an MBA degree despite trying his best; he still wanted his business to make a significant impact. While starting out, he was aware that starting up a cafe would require a minimum investment of INR  15 lakhs, which was a pretty big commitment that came with its downfalls, uncertainties, and much more. 

He also lacked the courage to open a roadside tea stall due to the social stigmas that he would have to deal with had he gone ahead with it – including his parents’ reactions. 

Despite all the uncertainties, Prafull went on ahead with his dream and eventually turned MBA Chai Wala into a success.
