It was no surprise that the movie became a commercial success and went on to top as the highest-grossing Telugu film in 2023. Despite a lot happening in the movie, with tons of heroes and villains, bloodshed, and biceps – Salaar budget and collection have become the point of interest for many. A year after its release, fans are still raging over the movie’s plotlines, action cinematography, and Prabhas’ rugged good looks! This article will cover Salaar’s synopsis, budget, and collection details!
Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire – Movie Overview
The epic action thriller movie takes place in the fictional city-state of Khansaar – a dystopian place where monarchy exists at the current time. In Khansaar, Deva is an exiled prince (played by Prabhas) whilst his friend Varadha (played by Prithviraj Sukumaran) plays the current prince of the dystopian state.
When an illegal throw of power is planned by his father’s ministers and relatives, Varadha decides to take the help of his befallen friend, Deva, to help overthrow his father’s ministries and become Khasaar’s undisputed ruler perpetually.
Viewers should know that the movie is segregated into different timelines – four to be exact.
- 1985: Here it is shown that Deva and Varadha are close friends and the latter’s father is planning to lead an attack on Deva and his mother.
- 2017: Present day, where a business tycoon Krishnakanth learns about Aadhya being in Varanasi for her mother’s last rites. The rival gang plans on abducting her but Krishnakanth’s ally Bilal protects her. We get to know who orchestrated Aadhya’s abduction and the reasons behind her wanting to do so, which turn out to be quite noble and Bilal explains Khansaar’s history to Aadhya.
- Time-jump to 1127: In this timeline, we see that dacoits from various tribes including the Mannar tribe have established control over Khansaar. In 1947, post-independence, Raja Mannar’s father Shiva divided Khansaar into various parts and somehow Raja climbed to success shortly after, appointing his daughter as his regent.
- 2010: Raja’s daughter Radha and her husband suggest the former reconcile with Vardha who had been exiled in 1985 and during her father’s absence, Radha initiates a ceasefire. The climax of the movie is shown here and in the end, Deva comes out as the rightful ruler of Khansaar.
