    Early Life and Struggles

    Gout Gout grew up in Ipswich and developed a passion for athletics. During his early years, he used to play football and then shifted towards athletics at the age of 12. He used to participate in major events during his school days. He impressed the coaches at the Ipswich Grammar School sports carnival. Gout was making records with his racing speed and energy. After a year (13), he started winning in the 100 m and 200 m sprint format during his school years events. 

    Despite his lanky frame, Gout’s transition to sprinting proved seamless, and he was able to continue his passion for sprinting. His early years were filled with lots of competitions and practices to achieve the top records. 

    Gout Gout Career Beginning (As a Junior)

    Gout has had a stellar start to his career, with many impressive accomplishments over the distance races of both the 100m and 200m. His first significant accomplishment was when he set two national records for U16 sprinting in Australia at the 2022 Australian All Schools, with a time of 10.57 seconds in the 100m and 21.14 seconds in the 200m, both of which broke the previous U16 national record. He broke the U16 national record twice on the same day! 

    Then, in 2023, at just 15 years old, he was even more skilled than in previous years. At the Junior National Championships that year, Gout ran 20.87 seconds for the 200m race; this put him right into the mix of being the fastest sprinters in the U18 age groups worldwide. In 2024, at 16 years old, Gout ran 10.04 seconds in the 100m sprint at the Australian All Schools; this time is one of the fastest ever recorded by a U18 athlete on a global basis.

    Best Performance in 2024-2025 

    Gout initiated his career in October 2024, obtaining a contract from Adidas, and immediately after he began competing at the Queensland All-Schools Championships, where he concluded the heats of the 200 metres in a time of 20.29 seconds (wind velocity: +1.2 m/sec), which was an Oceanian U20 record and the fourth-fastest time achieved by an Australian and fourth-fastest overall, among all young athletes, after Usain Bolt etc.

    At the 2024 Australian All-Schools Championships, Gout completed the heats of the 100 metres in 10.04 seconds (wind velocity: +3.4 m/sec), making him the fourth-fastest in the world for U18 runners. 

    He subsequently won the final with a 10.17-second result (wind velocity: +0.9 m/sec), breaking the U18 record previously held by Sebastian Sultana. One day later, he completed the 200 metres final in a time of 20.04 seconds, which is the second-fastest in history for U18, only behind Erriyon Knighton. 

    Additionally, this performance bettered the record held by Usain Bolt in the U18 classification, thus making Gout the second individual to do so.

    At the end of the year 2025, he reached another milestone: establishing a new Oceanian 200m record at a time of 20.02. Gout also won the senior men’s 200m national championship with a time of 19.84, placing him 30th in the world for the year of 2025. All of the above performances were outstanding accomplishments of Gout.
