Veera Simha Reddy: Full Movie Plotline
The story of the film unfolds across Rayalaseema’s faction-ridden villages and Istanbul’s modern backdrop. This weaves a simple tale of justice, mixed with betrayal and legacy.
Opening scene in Istanbul
Meenakshi (played by Honey Rose) runs a Rayalaseema cuisine restaurant in Istanbul with her son, Jai Simha Reddy (played by Nandamuri Balakrishna). Jai is a car dealership owner and he meets aspiring singer Isha (played by Shruti Haasan), the daughter of Jayaram (played by Murali Sharma). Jayaram is a business tycoon, and during one of Jai and Isha’s drug-dealing scuffles, the duo fall in love.
Things proceed, and on the day of the marriage proposal, Meenkashi reveals to everyone that Jai’s father is Veera Simha Reddy (again played by Nandamuri Balakrishna), a respected leader in Pulicherla who is known to fight faction violence.
Veera’s world in Rayalaseema
The scene shifts to Andhra Pradesh, and Veera Simha Reddy is seen mediating village disputes and targeting factionism. His rival is Pratap Reddy (played by Duniya Vijay), who is urged by his uncle Peddi Reddy (Ajay Ghosh). He is urged to plot and to seize industrialist Rajagopal’s (Sachin Khedekar) factory. He ends up repeatedly failing to assassinate Veera.
On the other hand, Veera’s half-sister, Bhanumati (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar), absolutely hates him and blames him for her suffering in the past.
In an interesting turn of events, Rajagopal seeks Veera’s help and the latter single-handedly thwarts attackers at the border. Meenakshi then invites Veera to Turkey for Jai’s wedding – and he meets his unaware son for the first time. Jayaram gives his consent for the alliance despite his ties with the factory and his attachment to Pratap’s schemes.
The Assassination and flashbacks
- Pratap and Bhanumati learn about Veera’s location and attack him in Istanbul, thus revealing Bhanumati as his sister.
- Jai fights back, but Veera stops him by vowing to die for her. He is stabbed fatally, and just before succumbing, he asks Jai to return his body to Rayalaseema for the final rites.
- In the flashbacks unfold, and Meenaksi, Veera’s childhood love, gave birth to Jai in a pre-marriage consummation. Veera sent her away after Bhanumati’s wedding delay, and he decapitated Pratap’s father, Gangi Reddy,to save villagers from atrocitie,s thus sparing young Pratap with a warning.
- Bhanumati’s story is interesting as she loved Shekhar (played by Naveen Chandra), the son of Veera’s friend Siddhapa. Veera had approved of the alliance but in Shekhar’s drunken state, he ended up killing Suri. Veera ostracized Shekar as per justice thus leading to Shekhar committing suicide. Bhanumati, upon hearing of all this, gets enraged, and she marries Pratap, thus vowing that there would be no intimacy between them until Veera dies.
Climax of the Film
In the current-day scenario, Jai returns Veera and learns the truth from Siddhapa. He vows vengeance on his father and protects Rajagopal’s factory by confronting Pratap’s gang to honor his father’s mission. Pratap slaps Bhanumati and admits that he killed Shekhar and manipulated her emotions and grief.
Upon realizing the truth, Bhanumati apologizes to Jai and slits her throat in guilt. She die,s and Jai is freed from all family ties. He then kills Pratap with decision thus fulfilling his father’s legacy of justice over blind loyalty.
